Trans Beach Trip
On August 26th - 30th 2021, a group of transgender folk gathered together in a beach house for the first ever Trans Beach Trip. For many this was their first time swimming, or even wearing a bathing suit, since beginning transition. This year, we're doing it again, bigger, better, and more accessible than last! The pandemic and Hurricane Ida did little to dampen the spirits of those at the retreat. Their commentary speaks for itself and the experience as a whole.
Due to the surge of COVID, vaccinations and a negative test were required to participate. These requirements were received enthusiastically by the attendees; there were no complaints or hesitation in looking out for each other's safety.
When granted a place to simply exist in a welcoming and relaxed environment, trans people thrive.
